University of Minnesota senior gymnast Jake Lee (Saratoga Springs, Utah / Lehi HS) has been named the CGA National Gymnast of the Week and Big Ten Gymnast of the Week for his performance last weekend in a 213.300-205.400 victory over Illinois-Chicago. This is the second time this season and the third time in his career Lee has earned Big Ten Gymnast of the Week honors.
Lee registered a career meet against Illinois-Chicago, 213.300-205.400 as he captured the all-around title with a mark of 53.450, his second-highest score of the season. He also won individual honors on the pommel horse with an 8.65, the parallel bars with a score of 9.15 and the high bar with a career-high 9.50.
Lee and the Gophers host the Big Ten Men’s Gymnastics Championships this Friday and Saturday, March 30-31 at the Sports Pavilion. The competition starts at 7 p.m. on both nights.
