Minnesota finishes third in number of honorees
The Minnesota men's gymnastics team held its annual season-ending banquet Saturday afternoon. Congratulations to the team and coaches on an outstanding season.
The men's gymnastics season came to an end this weekend at the NCAA Championships. The Gophers finished the year in eighth place.
Minnesota finished fourth in Thursday's pre-qualifying round of the NCAA Championships, one spot shy of advancing to the finals.
Minnesota finished fourth out of seven at the Big Ten Championships on Friday with a final score of 345.80. Six Gopher gymnasts qualified for the event finals held on Saturday.

2012 SENIOR SEASON: Competed in all 12 meets Scored a career high on pommel horse Iowa/Brockport with a 14.200 (3/03) Posted a career high of 15.200 on rings multiple times, including the Big Ten Championships, where he placed fifth during the team competition and fourth during the individual competition Career high of 15.450 on parallel bars came during the Nebraska/Illinois meet (3/11) Finished second parallel bars at the Big Ten Championships with a score of 14.550 (4/07) Earned a career-high score of 14.650 on high bar against Nebraska/Illinois (3/11) Competed in the NCAA Championships, scoring 14.600 on rings and 14.900 (11th place) on p- bars (4/20).
2011 JUNIOR SEASON: Competed in ten of 12 meets received Academic All-Big Ten honors scored season-best 14.550 on the still rings at the NCAA Team Qualifier (4/14) scored season-best 14.900 on the parallel bars at the Big Ten Individual Championships (4/2) scored career-high 14.200 on the high bar against Iowa/Penn State (3/5) earned his third varsity letter.
2010 SOPHOMORE SEASON: Competed in 10 of 13 meets earned First-Team Academic Excellence Award received Academic All-Big Ten Honors scored Gophers season-high of 14.850 on the parallel bars at Penn State (3/6) scored season-high and career-best score of 14.800 on the still rings at Nebraska (3/20) also competed on pommel horse nine times earned second varsity letter.
2009 FRESHMAN SEASON: Competed in every meet earned Minnesota Freshman of the Year Award scored Gopher season-high marks on the still rings (14.85) at Illinois-Chicago and on the parallel bars (15.1) against Oklahoma won the parallel bars against Penn State (1/31) had a score of 14.6 or higher on the still rings at five meets scored a season-best mark of 14.25 on the high bar against Nebraska (3/15) earned Second Team All-Big Ten honors received Gopher Freshman of the Year Award Big Ten runner up on parallel bars during the season was ranked No. 4 on the parallel bars competed in four events at 10 meets earned first varsity letter.

Minnesota Tops Canada, Falls to Japan and Stanford
Minnesota finished third with a score of 405.600 in a quad-meet with the Japanese National Team (425.800), Stanford (421.550) and the Canadian National Team (392.700) on Saturday night.

Minnesota will travel this weekend to compete against Stanford, and the National Teams from both Japan and Canada.
Day Two: Winter Cup Challenge
Stephens finished 23rd in the all-around competition, while alum Mannon finished fifth on pommel horse. Incoming freshman Wiskus also competed in the all-around finals, finishing 12th.
