Gophersports.com takes a look back at the men's gymnastics 2014 season.
2015 • Junior Season: Named Academic All-Big Ten honoree • appeared in all eight regular-season meets plus the Big Ten and NCAA Championships and competed on pommel horse, high bar and parallel bars • earned team high score on the high bar at the Windy City Invitational with a 14.00 (1/17) • finished second on the night vs. Illinois on high bar (14.450) (1/31) • rounded out the top five vs. Iowa on pommel horse with a 14.15 and parallel bars tallying 14.30 (3/7) • earned third varsity letter.
2013 • Freshman Season: Made collegiate debut at the Windy City Invitational (1/18) and competed in three events • led Minnesota to a win on the high bars (70.950, tied with Ohio State) with a 14.400 to tie for fifth • recorded a season-best 15.050 on high bar and season-best 13.650 on pommel horse at Oklahoma (2/16) • finished sixth in finals on high bar at the Big Ten Championships with a score of 14.375 • placed 10th on high bar (14.100) at NCAA Qualifier (4/19) • earned first varsity letter.
High School/Club: A graduate of Rockville High School • high bar champion at the 2011 Junior Nationals • finished fifth in the all-around and second in the high bar at the 2011 Visa Championships • participated in club competition for Tim Daggetts Gold Medal Gymnastics.
Personal: Born November 8, 1994 • son of Joe and Cathy DiBenedetto • has younger sister, Nicole DiBenedetto • honors student for all four years of high school • Speech-Language-Hearing Sciences major.
