The Minnesota men's gymnastics team held its annual season-ending banquet Saturday afternoon. Congratulations to the team and coaches on an outstanding season.
Minnesota held on to its No. 5 overall ranking but moved up to the No. 1 spot in the team rankings for vault. The Gophers have eight gymnasts ranked in the top 20 on individual events.
2012 SENIOR SEASON: Saw action in all 12 meets Competed on parallel bars and rings in every meet, adding high bar to his competition repertoire over the last seven meets Scored a season high on rings of 14.400 against Nebraska (2/18) top p-bars score of 14.900 came against UIC (1/21) Earned a season-high score of 14.100 on high bar at Nebraska versus Illinois (3/11).
2011 JUNIOR SEASON: Competed in 11 of 12 meets competed in four events in nine meets scored career-high 13.700 on the pommel horse against UIC (2/27) scored career-high 14.700 on the still rings against Brockport (3/11) scored career-high 14.850 on the parallel bars at the NCAA Team Qualifier (4/14) scored career-high 14.700 on the high bar against Nebraska (3/18) earned his third varsity letter.
2010 SOPHOMORE SEASON: Appeared in eight of 13 competitions had a season-high 14.400 score on the parallel bars against UIC and Iowa (3/13) competed in four events against Illinois on 2/13 scored a season-best 14.250 on the still rings twice competed on both the still rings and parallel bars in all eight meets he appeared in earned his second varsity letter.
2009 FRESHMAN SEASON: Competed in eight meets had a season-high 14.3 score on the still rings at the NCAA Qualifier best meet was against Iowa, Nebraska (2/14), where he competed in four events scored a 13.95 on the parallel bars against Oklahoma and Stanford, his best tally of the season competed in both the parallel bars and still rings in seven meets earned his first varsity letter.
HIGH SCHOOL: A 2008 graduate of St. Ignatius High School trained at Gymnastics World finished 13th at the 2007 VISA Championships, earning four top-10 finishes in individual events, including a sixth-place finish on vault finished 15th in the all-around at the 2006 VISA Championships.
PERSONAL: Undecided on a major son of Russell and Anne Cameratta born 7/7/89.
