La'Cassie Makes Cut at Australian Open

University of Minnesota men's golfer Bronson La'Cassie survived the cut at the Australian Open at the Royal Sydney Golf Club in Sydney, Australia. La'Cassie fired a second round 1-under 71 and is tied for 24th at 4-over 148, 10 shots behind tournament leader Nathan Green. Stuart Appleby is 1-under after two rounds, Adam Scott is even par as well as Nick O'Hern.

La'Cassie, a three-time All-American from Brisbane, Queensland, Australia, is one shot off the pace for the low amateur competition. Stephen Darnell and Andrew Dodt are tied at 3-over along with PGA Tour player Aaron Baddeley.

La'Cassie, who won the prestigious Western Amateur this past summer, begins his third round at 8:40 a.m., Sydney time tomorrow. His playing partners will be Anthony Summers and Shane Baxter, both Australian professional players.
