The University of Minnesota men's golf team fired a final round score of six-under par 282 to move past four teams into a tie for 14th place at the conclusion of the 54-hole Golf World-Palmetto Dunes Collegiate Invitational. The tournament, one of the top collegiate regular season events in the nation, was held at the Arthur Hills Course at Palmetto Dunes Resort in Hilton Head, S.C.

The 15th-ranked Golden Gophers, mired in 18th place in the 18-team event, moved past fourth-ranked Arizona State, seventh-ranked UNLV and 17th-ranked Florida on the tournament's final day.

The Golden Gophers will be away from competition until early February, when they resume action by traveling to Phoenix, Ariz. for the Alumni Challenge.
