Men's Golf in Second Place After Two Rounds at Landfall Tradition

UThe 11th-ranked Golden Gopher men's golf team fell one spot to second after day two of the Landfall Tradition. Minnesota shot a 5-over-par 293 for a total of even-par 576, 2 strokes back from leader UNC Wilmington. The event is being held at the par 72, 6,997-yard Pete Dye Course at the Landfall Golf Club in Wilmington, N.C.

Senior Matt Anderson (Edina, Minn./Edina) moved up four notches with a 2-under 70 to sit tied for second place at 3-under 141. Junior Justin Smith (Moon Township, Pa./Moon Area) carded a 73 (+1) to tie for seventh at 143. Senior Simon Nash (Brisbane, Australia/St. Joseph's) and freshman Ryan Paulson (Minneapolis, Minn./Holy Angels), competing in his first tournament for the Gophers, are both tied for 15th place at 146 with rounds of 76 and 74, respectively. Senior Wilhelm Schauman was disqualified during the second round.

The Landfall Tradition will conclude tomorrow.
