The University of Minnesota men's golf team fired a second round 287 to move up into a tie for sixth after two rounds at the Landfall Tradition in Wilmington, N.C. The Gophers trail tournament leader Michigan State by 13 shots going into tomorrow's final round at the par 72, 6,948-yard Country Club of Landfall Jack Nicklaus Course.
Individually, Minnesota was led by senior Ben Greve. Greve fired his best round of the fall season a 3-under 69 Saturday and is tied for 5th at 4-under 140. Sophomore Bronson La'Cassie posted his second straight 71 and is tied for 14th at 2-under 142. Junior Josh Persons bounced back from a 79 yesterday to card a 71 of his own in round two. Persons moved up into a tie for 35th at 149. Sophomore Naill Turner carded his second 76 of the tournament and is tied for 46th at 152. Freshman John Larson, playing in his first collegiate competition, shot a 79 today and is tied for 51st at 153.
