The University of Minnesota men's golf team finished seventh at the Big Ten/Pac 10 Challenge in Oregon at the Pacific Dunes Course at the Bandon Dunes Golf Resort. The Gophers fired a final round 297 for a 54-hole total of 909, 19 shots behind tournament titleist UCLA.

Minnesota was led by senior All-American Niall Turner who finished tied for 11th at 12-over 225 after a final round 74. Freshman Ben Pisani and senior Bronson La'Cassie also carded third round 74s, Pisani tied for 28th at 16-over 229 and La'Cassie tied for 34th at 17-over 230. Junior Clayton Rask shot 75 Tuesday and tied for 45th at 21-over 234. Sophomore Patrick Datz finished 54th at 239.

In the conference challenge portion of the tournament, the Pac-10 won by 29 strokes, 4,488-4,517.

The Gophers compete in the Callaway Collegiate Matchplay Championship. Minnesota will face Georgia in the first round on Oct. 29 at Colonial Country Club.
