The Golden Gophers have a quick turnaround between their last tournament and the upcoming Barnabas Health Intercollegiate (Oct. 20-21). They returned from the Alister MacKenzie Invitational on Tuesday and travel to Bedminster, N.J., on Friday. The Barnabas Health tournament is 36 holes.
Minnesota recorded its best team score of the year, a 7-under 857, at the MacKenzie, with Alex Gaugert leading the way in ninth place. Jose Mendez, Jon Trasamar, Tyler Lowenstein and Matt Rachey will join Gaugert in the lineup this Sunday and Monday.
The field: Fairleigh Dickinson, Fordham, Iona, LaSalle, Long Island, Manhattan, Monmouth, Robert Morris, Saint Peter's, St. Francis (N.Y.), St. Francis (Pa.), Temple and Wagner join Minnesota and host Seton Hall.
The course: The River Course at Fiddler's Elbow Country Club is a par 72 playing at 7,014 yards.
Notes: *Freshman Matt Rachey will be competing as part of the team for the first time.
Gophers Baltimore Bound for B1G Championships
The conference tournament runs April 28-30 at Baltimore Country Club's Five Farms East Course.
