ViThe University of Minnesota men's golf team is in seventh place after round one of the Duke Golf Classic in Durham, N.C. The Golden Gophers shot a 15-over-par 303, 10 shots behind tournament leader Virginia Tech.

Individually, junior Wilhelm Schauman shot a 1-under-par 71 and is tied for second, two shots behind Eric Jorgensen of Michigan State. Junior Matt Anderson is tied for 21st after firing a 75 and sophomore Simon Nash shot a 78 which places him in 46th place.

The second round was halted due to inclement weather and will be played Monday along with the third and final round.
