Golfweek Magazine recently announced that Gopher senior Ben Pisani has been listed as their "Player to Watch" for the 2009-10 golf season.

A Brisbane, Australia native, Pisani is currently ranked 23rd in the most recent Golfweek/Sagarin College individual rankings. He finished last season as the 141st ranked player in the nation. This season, Pisani has paced the Gophers with a 70.77 stroke average after three tournaments and has posted three straight top-10 finishes, including a runner-up finish at the 2009 Gopher Invitational.

Most recently, Pisani carded a 54-hole score of 5 over par 218 to finish eighth at the Windon Memorial at Skokie Country Club in Glencoe, Ill.

Pisani, a 2009 Second Team All-Big Ten performer, compiled eight top 20 finishes in 2008-09, three of which were also top-10 finishes, including a tie for third place at the 2009 Big Ten Championships. He tied a career-low 54-hole score by shooting a 5-under par 211 at the Administaff Augusta State Invitational in April and established a career-low with a second-round 67, also in the Administaff Invite.

Pisani led the 2008-09 Gophers in the fall and spring seasons in stroke average at 73.57 and 72.58, respectively. His combined stroke average of 73.11 tied him for the 19th-lowest in the history of Minnesota golf and is his lowest in the three seasons he has been at the U.
