The University of Minnesota men's golf team is in 11th place after two rounds of the PING/Golfweek Preview in Williamsburg, Va. The Golden Gophers carded a second round 292 for a two-round total of 22-over-par 582, 20 shots behind tournament leaders Florida and Oklahoma State. The final round is tomorrow at the par 70, 6,809-yard Gold Course at the Golden Horseshoe Golf Club, the site of the 2007 NCAA Men's Golf Championships.
For the second straight day the Gophers were led by Bronson La'Cassie. The senior All-American fired a 1-under-par round of 69 and is tied for second at 3-under 137, one shot behind the 2006 NCAA Player of the Year, Pablo Martin of Oklahoma State. Senior Niall Turner carded his second solid round of the tournament with a 72 and is tied for 20th at 3-over 143. Junior Clayton Rask carded a 75 and is tied for 53rd at 149 and sophomore Andy Paulson shot a 76 Tuesday and is tied for 67th at 153. Freshman Ben Pisani carded a second round 77 and is 72nd at 159.
