tomorrThe University of Minnesota men's golf team is tied for fifth place after two rounds of the Husky Invitational in Bremerton, Wash. The Gophers trail tournament leader USC by 22 shots going into tomorrow's final round. The Gophers shot rounds of 366-371 for a two round total of 737 (+17). The Husky Invitational is utilizing a unique scoring system with six golfers playing for each team with five scores counting toward the team total. All other collegiate tournaments have five golfers playing with four scores counting for each team.

The Gophers were led by junior Josh Persons with a 2-under 142. Persons, a transfer from Kansas State who is playing in his first tournament for the Gophers, is tied for fifth. Sophomore Bronson La'Cassie stands a shot back at 1-under 143. Sophomore Naill Turner, a transfer from Cork, Ireland, is tied for 19th at 147 (+3) after firing an even-par 72 in round two.

Redshirt freshman Mike Fielder, playing in his first collegiate tournament, is tied for 33rd at 151 (+7). Junior Ryan Paulson is 39th (154/+10) and senior Ben Greve is tied for 44th at 156 (+12).
