The University of Minnesota men's golf team is tied for third place after two rounds of the PING Preview in West Lafayette, Ind. The Golden Gopher fired rounds of 295-291 for a 10-over-par score of 586. Minnesota trails tournament leader Oklahoma State by 13 shots heading into tomorrow's final round at the par 72, 7,467-yard Kampen Course.
The Gophers were led by junior All-American Victor Almstrom who fired a 2-under 142 and is tied for third. Almstrom trails tournament leader Jonas Enander Hedin of Charlotte by two strokes. Sophomore Ben Pisani carded a second round 71 and is tied for 21st at 3-over 147. Senior Clayton Rask is tied for 27th a shot behind Pisani at 4-over 148. Junior Andy Paulson followed a solid first round 73 with a second round 76 and is tied for 32nd at 5-over 149. Freshman Justin Kaplan is 74th at 20-over 164.
