Trasamar is a fifth-year senior who finished 17th at the 2013 Big Ten Championships. His best finish last season was a tie for sixth at the Snowman Getaway, and he held a stroke average of 76.33 over the year. Over the summer, Trasamar won the 81st Pine to Palm Tournament.
DuToit, a sophomore, tied for eighth at the conference meet as a true freshman. He was second on the team with a 74.72 season stroke average. DuToit won the Minnesota State Open this past summer.
Mendez is one of the Gophers’ four incoming freshmen. He is one of the top-ranked amateurs in his class, and in July he became the first Costa Rican to win the Callaway Junior World Golf Championship. Mendez also played in the Toyota Junior World Cup and won the Bob Jones Junior this summer.
The Golden Gophers will start their fall season hosting the Gopher Invitational at Windsong Farm Golf Club in Independence, Minn., this upcoming Sunday and Monday (Sept. 8-9).
