PennThe Minnesota men's golf team is ranked 23rd by Golf World in its College Preview edition released today. Minnesota received 96 points and is the only Big Ten team ranked in the preseason Top 25. Penn State, Illinois, Purdue and Indiana all received votes. Georgia is the preseason No. 1 with Florida and Georgia Tech tied for second.

In addition, sophomore Bronson La'Cassie was named to the top 50 Male Players to Watch list. Last season's Big Ten Freshman of the Year and all- region selection is one of four Big Ten players to make the list. La'Cassie qualified for this summer's U.S. Amateur and advanced to the second round of match play.

The Gophers begin their fall season Sept. 27-28 at the Husky Invitational in Bremerton, Wash.
