Golden Gopher senior Jon Trasamar earned medalist honors at the 81st Pine to Palm Golf Tournament at Detroit Country Club in Detroit Lakes, Minn. Trasamar won the two-round stroke play tournament to claim the No. 1 seed for the match play tournament.
Trasamar finished with a 36-hole score of 133 (-9), two strokes better than Bill Carlson and Robert Wagner. He carded a 5-under 66 on Tuesday and a 4-under 67 on Wednesday.
Before Trasamar, Erik Van Rooyen (2011), Cameron White (2007) and Clayton Rask (2006) have all medaled in recent years at the Pine to Palm.
Match play began Thursday. Seven Gophers qualified. In addition to Trasamar, senior Alex Gaugert, sophomore Jon DuToit, junior Tyler Lowenstein, freshmen Grady Meyer and Matt Rachey, and sophomore Charlie Braniff made it to the round of 64.

Two Minnesota players finished in the top six spots at Desert Forest Golf Club.
