PING All-America Teams

Jose Mendez has received PING All-America honorable mention honors from the Golf Coaches Association of America. The GCAA earlier named Mendez to its All-Freshman Team after his illustrious rookie campaign.

Mendez was named the Big Ten Freshman of the Year and selected to the All-Big Ten First Team after tying for medalist honors at the Big Ten Championships. He was the first freshman Big Ten champion since 2009. Mendez received PING All-Region honors after tying for ninth place at the NCAA Raleigh Regional.

In a season that included three individual tournament wins, Mendez held a stroke average of 71.97, which ranks third in program history for a single season. His average during Minnesota's six spring tournaments was 70.74.
