if For Immediate Release May 31, 1999 The East Team, led by University of Minnesota senior Adam Dooley, defeated the West Team by a score if 6-3 in a match play event held Monday at the 1999 NCAA Men's Golf Championships being held at Hazeltine National Golf Club.
Dooley, paired with Eamonn Brady of East Tennessee State University, defeated Charley Hoffman of UNLV and Jamie Rogers of Nebraska, 5 and 4. Georgia Tech sophomore Bryce Molder and Big Ten Athlete of the Year, Luke Donald, defeated Ed Loar of Oklahoma State and Andy Miller of BYU, 1 up.
The second and final session of practice rounds will be played Tuesday with Minnesota teeing off the first tee at 8:10 a.m. The first round of the 1999 NCAA Men's Golf Championships begins Wednesday morning at 7:12 a.m. The Golden Gophers will tee off Wednesday afternoon at 12:45 p.m.
