University of Minnesota men’s golfer Bronson La’Cassie was named to the PING All-Midwest Region Team today by the Golf Coaches Association of America. La’Cassie, a junior from Brisbane, Australia, was awarded the honor for the third straight year. La’Cassie becomes the first Gopher in the program’s history to earn three all-region honors. It is the fourth straight season the Gophers have had at least one honoree on the Midwest Region team.

La’Cassie was named First Team All-Big Ten in April and became only the fourth Golden Gopher to win the Les Bolstad Award for the Big Ten’s lowest individual season scoring average. He leads the team with a 72.70 stroke average and 26 of his 34 rounds this season have been under 75. His season stroke average is currently the ninth best mark since 1979. He now owns three of the top 10 season stroke averages in Gopher Golf history.
