Four members of the University of Minnesota men’s golf team have earned Academic All-Big Ten recognition, as announced by the conference Wednesday. Seniors Alex Gaugert and Jon Trasamar, junior Tyler Lowenstein and sophomore Jon DuToit all received the honor.
To be eligible for Academic All-Big Ten selection, student-athletes must be letterwinners who are in at least their second academic year at their institution and carry a cumulative grade-point average of 3.0 or higher.
“Our coaching staff and Chelsie Schafer, our academic advisor, have placed an increased emphasis on our team’s APR and GPA over the past few years,” head coach John Carlson said. “Our players are performing at an all-time high in the classroom. These four recipients of the award should be very proud of their accomplishments as student athletes at the University of Minnesota.”
