firsThe University of Minnesota men's golf team is tied for 15th after shooting a 13-over-par 293 in the first round of the NCAA Central Regional in South Bend, Ind. The Gophers are 11 shots behind first round leader Oklahoma State. Play was suspended last night due to darkness and was resumed this morning at 6:45 a.m. Central Time. The second round is already in progress at the par 70, 7,011-yard Warren Golf Course.

Individually, the Gophers were led by sophomore Bronson La'Cassie with a one-over 71. He is tied for 11th. Junior Ryan Paulson fired a 72 and is tied for 27th. Sophomore Niall Turner carded a 74 while junior Josh Persons had a 76 and senior Ben Greve recorded a 77.

The top 10 teams advance to the NCAA Championships June 1-4 in Baltimore, Md. The final round is tomorrow. Live scoring is available at golfstat.com.
