University of Minnesota senior All-American Bronson La’Cassie earned his fourth career Big Ten Golfer of the Week honor with a second-place finish at last weekend’s U.S. Intercollegiate. The Brisbane, Queensland native’s total of 6-under-par 204 (68-69-67) was highlighted by the field’s top final round score of 67.
The second-place finish ties a collegiate career high for La'Cassie, and his three-round total of 204 marks a new career 54-hole score. In addition, La'Cassie's 204 is tied for the third-best 54-hole score in school history. La’Cassie has now earned a weekly honor in each of his four seasons at Minnesota (April 6, 2004; April 7, 2005; April 25, 2006; April 17, 2007). La’Cassie is the third Gopher to earn a GOW honor this season. Freshman Ben Pisani won the award on March 3 and senior Niall Turner earned the honor on April 3.
Minnesota is off this week to prepare for next weekend’s Big Ten Championship at Ohio State’s Scarlet Course in Columbus, Ohio.
