University of Minnesota senior All-American Niall Turner was named Big Ten Men's Golfer of the Week after his third top-10 finish of the season at last week's Augusta State Invitational. Turner fired a final round 71 to tie for eighth at 2-under-par 214 (73-20-71). The Cork, Ireland native, recorded his best round of the tournament on Saturday with a 2-under 70, on the 7,301-yard Champions Retreat Golf Club in Augusta, Ga.

This is the second career weekly honor for Turner as he was first awarded the accolade on March 29, 2006. It's also the second honor for a Gopher player this season, freshman Ben Pisani won the honor on March 2.
