The University of Minnesota men's golf team will head to Baton Rouge, Louisiana this weekend to take part in the LSU Invitational on Sat. April 2 and Sun. April 3. Hosted by Louisiana State University the tournament will be held at the par 72, 7,440 yard University Golf Club.

The event will kick off with a shotgun start for the first round at 8:30 a.m., with second round play immediately following. The third and final round will conclude on Sunday starting at 8:00 a.m.

Joining Minnesota in the 12 field will be LSU (9), Iowa (12), Notre Dame (37), Michigan (45), Chattanooga (46), Boston College, Centenary, Iowa State Louisiana-Lafayette, Penn State, and Virginia Commonwealth (Rankings according to GolfStat.com).

Minnesota’s lineup for the event will be Donald Constable, Jon Trasamar, Erik Van Rooyen, David Haley Jr., and Robert Bell.

The Gophers are coming off a fifth place finish at last week’s FAU Spring Break Invitational in Delray Beach Florida and will be looking for another top ten finish. Redshirt freshman Jon Trasamar was the story of the event for Minnesota, registering a career best fourth place finish following a final round 68.
