The University of Minnesota men's golf team is in 16th place after two rounds of the Administaff Augusta State Invitational in Augusta, Ga. The Gophers carded their second straight 8-over 296 for a two-round total of 16-over 592, 32 shots behind tournament leader North Carolina. The final round is tomorrow at the par 72, 7,301-yard Champions Retreat Golf Club in Augusta, Ga.

Individually, the Gophers were led by their senior All-Americans Niall Turner and Bronson La'Cassie. Turner fired a 2-under-par 70 Saturday and is currently 12th at 1-under 143. La'Cassie battled back from a 78 yesterday to card a 1-under 71 and moved up into a tie for 50th at 5-over 149. Sophomore Victor Almstrom had his second consecutive solid day with a 1-over 73. Almstrom is tied for 13th at even par 144. Unfortunately for the Gophers, they couldn't get a fourth score. Freshman Ben Pisani shot a second round 82 and sophomore Andy Paulson recorded an 88. Pisani is 84th at 12-over and Paulson is 89th at 22-over.
