MGF: Gophers Move Up To 12th After Two Rounds of National Invite

The 22nd-ranked University of Minnesota men's golf team moved up to 12th place after two rounds of the National Invitational Tournament in Tucson, Ariz. The Gophers fired a 1-under 287 Monday for a two-round total of even-par 576. Minnesota is 17 shots behind tournament leader TCU. The National Invitational features eight teams ranked in the top 25.

Individually, the Gophers continue to be led by sophomore Bronson La'Cassie. La'Cassie is tied for 24th at 2-under 142 after a 72 Monday. Junior Ryan Paulson is a shot back at 1-under for the tournament firing a 71 in the second round. Senior Ben Greve is tied for 41st at 145 (+1). Sophomore Niall Turner tied Paulson for the best round of the day for the Gophers carding a 71 and he moved up into a tie for 45th at 146 (+2). Freshman Jurrian Van Der Vaart is tied for 70th at 151 (+7).

The final round is tomorrow at the par 72, 7,094-yard OMNI Tucson National course.
