The No. 19 Minnesota men's golf struggled on the final day of the Schenkel E-Z-Go Invitational at Forest Heights Country Club in Statesboro, Ga. and fell to a 17th place finish. The Gophers shot rounds of 299-297-314 to finish with a 54-hole total of 910. Fifth-ranked Georgia took home the title with a score of 854, followed by Alabama and Auburn.

Senior Niall Turner led Minnesota, finishing in a tie for 21st individually with a 4-over-par total of 220. The tough 18-team field included 11 ranked teams.

Turner carded rounds of 75-72-73 to lead the Gophers. Sophomore Victor Almstrom finished in a tie for 54th at 227 with rounds of 72-76-79 and senior Bronson La'Cassie placed in a tie for 58th at 228 with rounds of 75-73-80. Junior Patrick Datz tied for 86th at 236 with rounds of 77-76-83 and freshman Ben Pisani placed 88th at 238 with scores of 79-77-82.

The Gophers return to Georgia March 30-April to compete in the Augusta Invitational in Augusta, Ga.
