1The 13th-ranked Golden Gopher men's golf team finished the second day of competition at the Las Vegas Intercollegiate in a tie for 14th- place, shooting an 11-over par 299 in the second round of the 15-team, 54-hole tournament. The Maroon and Gold are now at a 34-over par 610 through two rounds. Third-ranked Georgia Tech increased its lead to nine strokes with the team sitting at a five-under 571 for the tournament, held at Rio Secco Golf Course in Las Vegas, Nev.

Sophomore Wilhelm Schauman, the nation's 16th-ranked collegiate golfer, fired a two-over 74 in the second round and stands in a tie for 31st place with a six-over 150. He is followed in the individual standings by Ben Meyers at 152 (T-42nd), Zach Faulds at 154 (T-57th), David Morgan at 155 (T-62nd) and Simon Nash at 159 (71st). Jeff Quinney of Arizona State shot a five-under 67 to increase his lead to six strokes with a two-round 136 (-8).

The tournament, hosted by UNLV, features 14 ranked teams (according to the latest Mastercard Collegiate Golf Rankings), including No. 1 Georgia, No. 2 Clemson and No. 3 Georgia Tech. The third and final round takes place Sunday morning.
