The University of Minnesota men's golf team finished seventh at the Puerto Rico Classic in Rio Mar, P.R. The Gophers carded a final round 4-over-par 292 to finish at even-par 864 for the tournament, 14 shots behind tournament champ Georgia. Georgia edged Clemson and Stanford by one shot.

On the final day, the Gophers were led by senior All-American Bronson La'Cassie. La'Cassie fired a tournament-best 69 to vault him into a tie for 17th at 1-under 215. The Brisbane, Queensland native finished one shot behind teammates Niall Turner and Ben Pisani. Turner carded a final round 72 and Pisani shot 74 Tuesday on the par 72, 6,902-yard layout at the River Course at the Rio Mar Golf and Country Club. The duo finished tied for 12th at 2-under 214.

Other Gopher competitors were junior Clayton Rask who shot a final day 77 and tied for 47th at 222 and sophomore Andy Paulson who also carded a 77 and finished tied for 70th at 228.

Minnesota is back in action Mar. 9-11 at the Las Vegas Founders Invitational.
