Minnesota men’s golf will begin its spring season at the Big Ten Match Play Championship in Bradenton, Fla. The tournament starts Friday, Feb. 14 and concludes on Saturday, Feb. 15.
The Golden Gophers are the No. 7 seed in the tournament and will face No. 10 Penn State in the first round. Tee times begin at 6:30 a.m. CT.
The field: All 12 Big Ten schools will participate in the tournament. Illinois, Purdue, Northwestern and Iowa have received first round byes as the top four seeds.
The course: For the third consecutive year, Concession Golf Club will host the Big Ten Match Play. The par-72 course was designed by Jack Nicklaus and Tony Jacklin, and it plays at 7,474 yards.
Notes: *Minnesota went 1-2 as the No. 8 seed at last year’s event.
*Jose Mendez held the Gophers’ lowest fall stroke average of 73.35.
