First Round Scores
Golden Gopher senior Erik Van Rooyen opened the NCAA Columbus Regional with a one over par 72 Thursday at Ohio State University's Scarlet Course.
The South Africa native, playing in his third consecutive NCAA Regional, will begin Friday's second round in a six-player tie for 10th place. Van Rooyen, who finished in a tie for 19th place last season at the Ann Arbor Regional, is five shots off the lead.
Van Rooyen will begin the second round in Columbus at 9:10 a.m. CT on the 10th hole. He finished with a par-four on the opening hole of the back nine on Thursday, en route to an even-par 35.
Tee-times for Saturday's third and final round will be determined following Friday's round. The entire Columbus regional can be followed live on www.golfstat.com.
