The Golden Gophers defeated Mesa Community College in an exhibition match Saturday. Minnesota posted a team score of 286 to Mesa CC’s 297 at Longbow Golf Club in Mesa, Ariz.

Three Gophers—Erik Van Rooyen, Tim Peterzen, and David Haley Jr.—played even-par rounds of 71. Robert Bell recorded a 73, Tyler Lowenstein a 75, and Jon Trasamar an 80.

“For our first competition after the Big Ten Match Play, I thought our guys played hard, and it was nice to come away with the victory,” head coach John Carlson said.

Minnesota will next travel to Statesboro, Ga., for the Schenkel Invitational Mar. 16-18.
