Tyler Stith is the midst his second season in Gold Country as an assistant to John Carlson.
Prior to landing in Gold Country, Stith spent three and a half years as a men's assistant to head coach Mark Hankins at the University of Iowa, his alma mater. During that time, the Hawkeyes' national ranking improved from No. 155 to No. 9 last season. Iowa recorded a school-record 10th-place finish at the 2011 NCAA Championships, eclipsing a previous program-best 17th place finish at the 2009 NCAA Championships.
The Hawkeyes' performance in the classroom--including being named as a GCAA All-Academic team twice--has also been impressive.
In addition to on-course coaching duties, Stith developed a recruiting plan that helped bring to Iowa City, top ranked junior players from four different states. He also directed the Hawkeye Junior Golf Camp and maintained communication with the golf program's fans, donors, and alumni.
A scholarship player at Iowa, Stith was a four-year letterwinner and a team captain during his senior season. He graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Management Information Systems in 2002. His previous professional golf experiences include positions in operations and instruction.
