Gophers Take Second Place at Big Ten Match Play

The Golden Gopher men's golf team took second place in the Big Ten Match Play Championship in Bradenton, Fla. The Gophers beat fourth-seeded Purdue by a tiebreaker in the semifinals, then fell to seventh-seeded Northwestern by a score of 4.5-1.5 in the championship. Gophers Beat First-Seeded Illinois in Big Ten Match Play Quarterfinals

The Minnesota men's golf team advanced to the semifinals of the Big Ten Match Play Championship by defeated 23rd-ranked Illinois, the tournament's top seed. Two former Gophers have made it to the final stage of PGA Tour Qualifying. Clayton Rask tied for sixth place at TPC Craig Ranch in Murietta, Calif., with a four-round score of 11 under par.
