Stelter Selected As Semifinalist For Prestigious Award

Andrew Stelter has been announced as a semifinalist for the 2017 William V. Campbell Trophy, the National Football Foundation & College Hall of Fame announced Wednesday.

The award recognizes the most impressive group of scholar-athletes in college football. The NFF will announce 12-14 finalists on Nov. 1, and each of them will receive an $18,000 postgraduate scholarship as a member of the NFF National Scholar-Athlete Class, presented by Fidelity Investments.

Stelter currently has a cumulative GPA of 3.61 in his undergraduate career at Minnesota and will graduate with a degree in Kinesiology this December. He is a two-time Academic All-Big Ten honoree.

On the field Stelter is seen as a leader by his peers. He is a member of the football leadership council and is one of the most experienced players on the roster. He has played in 40 career games with 48 tackles including five for a loss of 24 yards and 2.5 sacks.
