The second Minnesota alumni football game will be staged on Saturday, April 12, just prior to the Gophers' Spring Game. The alumni game will begin at 1 p.m. and will be followed by the Spring Game at 2:30 p.m. (Gophers will begin warmups at 2 p.m.)
Former Gopher greats Ron Johnson and Tyrone Carter will each captain a team in the alumni game and the rosters have now been announced.
Team Carter will feature Tyrone Carter, Luke Leverson, Crawford Jordan, Elvin Jones, Tony Patterson, Tellis Redmon, Fred Rodgers, Keith Dimmy, Omar Douglas, Damien Cannady, Matt Wangsness, Rob Lewis, Renato Fitzpatrick, Sam Richter, Pat Hau, Dan Nystrom, Adam Lueck and Nate Triplett.
Their opposition, Team Johnson, will include Ron Johnson, Duane Bennett, Donny Dalton, Simoni Lawrence, Ukee Dozier, Tony Mortenson, Traye Simmons, Eric Lair, Brandon Green, Astein Osei, Steve Davis, Lee Hutton, Anthony Burke, Zak Kartak, John Richmond, George Adzick, Jared Ellerson, Johnny Johnson and Jay Thomas.
Members of both teams will sign autographs on west plaza following the alumni game.
The Golden Gophers will then take the field at 2 p.m. The team will begin to stretch, warm up and run drills at 2 p.m., with the Spring Game slated to start at 2:30 p.m. At the conclusion of the game, fans are invited onto the field for a 30-minute autograph session with student-athletes and coaches.
The games are free and open to the public. Doors open at 12:30 p.m.
BTN2Go will provide live coverage of the Minnesota spring football game at 2:30 PM CT on Saturday, April 12. The game will be televised on BTN at 6:30 PM ET on Sunday, April 13.
