The Minnesota football team will hold its annual Spring Game on Saturday, April 12, at TCF Bank Stadium. The game, which begins at 2:30 p.m., will complete a busy day at Minnesota's picturesque venue.
The 50-yard line at TCF Bank Stadium will serve as the finish line for Goldy's Run on Saturday morning. The run, which features thousands of participants competing in either a 10-mile run, 10-mile relay run (two runners), 5k run/walk or Goldys' Gallop Kids Run benefits the University of Minnesota Amplatz Children's Hospital. The run has and will continue to generate significant proceeds donated for heart research.
Gopher football will host an alumni game following Goldy's Run at 1 p.m. The teams will be captained by former Gopher greats Tyrone Carter and Ron Johnson and will last until 2 p.m. The alumni will sign autographs on west plaza following the game.
The Golden Gophers will then take the field at 2 p.m. The team will begin to stretch, warm up and run drills at 2 p.m., with the Spring Game slated to start at 2:30 p.m. At the conclusion of the game, fans are invited onto the field for a 30-minute autograph session with student-athletes and coaches.
The game is free and open to the public. Doors open at 12:30 p.m.
Mike Grimm, former Gopher running back Darrell Thompson and Justin Gaard will have the radio call for the spring game, which can be heard on KFAN (100.3 FM).
BTN2Go will provide live coverage of the Minnesota spring football game at 2:30 PM CT on Saturday, April 12. The game will be televised on BTN at 6:30 PM ET on Sunday, April 13. Dave Lee and former Minnesota quarterback Adam Weber will have the call, and former Gopher Justin Conzemius will report from the sideline.
