University of Minnesota head football coach Jerry Kill announced the addition of 23 student-athletes to the Golden Gopher football program.

Of the 23 student-athletes announced by Kill, four were already enrolled in classes at Minnesota. Eighteen signed their National Letters of Intent Wednesday, while five others signed Acceptance of Admission forms.

Twenty-one members of Minnesota's recruiting class will be true freshmen for the 2013 season, while two join the Gophers from the junior college ranks.

The Gophers signed players from 12 different states on Wednesday, which includes six players from Minnesota, four from Florida, three from Georgia, two from Texas and one each from California, Indiana, Illinois, Michigan, Mississippi, Ohio, Tennessee and Wisconsin.

The 2013 Minnesota recruiting class features 12 offensive players, 10 defensive players and one kicker.

Linebacker and quarterback were the most heavily-targeted positions. The Gophers signed five linebackers and four quarterbacks.
