JCFootball.comThe University of Minnesota announced today that Golden Gopher quarterback Travis Cole was named to the JC Transfer All-America Team by JCFootball.com. Cole took over the starting position for the Golden Gophers in the fifth game of the 2000 season and led the team to consecutive wins over Illinois, Penn State and Ohio State. He also helped lead the Golden Gophers to the MicronPC.com Bowl, the team's second consecutive bowl game. Cole finished the season ranked first in the Big Ten and 16th in the nation in passing efficiency with a rating of 137.6. He threw for 252 pass with 147 completions for 1,982 yard and 11 touchdowns. Cole was a transfer from Foothill Junior College in Los Altos Hills, California. In his two years at Foothill Junior College, Cole led his team to a 19-3 record and was a two-time JC All-America selection.
