Asad Abdul-Khaliq and senior receiver Aaron Hosack represented the East in the Las Vegas All-American Classic on Saturday. Hosack scored the only points for the East on a 12-yard touchdown reception, however, that would account for the East's only points as the West defeated the East 14-7.
Abdul-Khaliq was 4-for-9 for 30 yards and ran for 23 yards on two carries for the East before leaving with a minor concussion in the fourth quarter.
His replacement, Jackson State quarterback Robert Kent, completed the touchdown pass to Hosack with 6:55 left in the game.
Oregon quarterback Jason Fife was 8-for-16 for 83 yards and two touchdowns for the West and was selected the Most Valuable Player of the all-star game.
The West scored on the game's first drive on Fife's 45-yard pass to Texas receiver Sloan Thomas.
Fife added a 1-yard TD pass to Southwest Missouri State fullback Nathan Schurman for a 14-0 lead early in the fourth quarter. Utah's Brandon Warfield had six carries for 41 yards on the 14-play, 74-yard drive.
