2016 • SOPHOMORE SEASON: Started at center against Oregon State where he protected for an offense that rushed for 150 yards and four touchdowns and passed for 130 yards • paved the way for Minnesota to gain 593 yards of offense (292 rushing and 301 passing) against Indiana State, which is the most the Gophers have gained since they racked up 704 yards against Toledo in 2004 • blocking against Colorado State helped team rush for 243 yards and four touchdowns and enabled Mitch Leidner to complete 80 percent (16-of-20) of his passes • protected for an offense that gained 469 yards (228 rushing and 241 passing) at Penn State and helped Rodney Smith (104 yards) and Shannon Brooks (100 yards) become the first Minnesota running backs to each gain 100 yards in a Big Ten game since Laurence Maroney (129 yards) and Gary Russell (128 yards) did so at Michigan in 2005 • competed against Iowa • blocked for an offense that rushed for 229 yards and two touchdowns at Maryland • started against Rutgers and helped pave the way for Minnesota to rush for 243 yards and three touchdowns • blocked for an offense that rushed for five touchdowns at Illinois and one that rushed for 235 yards and five touchdowns against Purdue • started at Nebraska • blocked for an offense that rushed for two scores and threw for one against Northwestern • started at Wisconsin.

2015 • FRESHMAN SEASON:
Started the final eight games of the season at center • in his first start, the Gophers rushed for 326 yards (most in a Big Ten game since 2005) and in his next four starts, Minnesota tied a school record as it passed for at least 250 yards in each game. Game-by-Game: Made his season and collegiate debut at center at Purdue and blocked for an offense that rushed for 326 yards, which was the most in a Big Ten game for Minnesota since it rushed for 327 yards on Nov. 12, 2005, against Michigan State • was the first true freshman ever to start at center for Coach Kill • provided protection for an offense that passed for 301 yards against Nebraska • against Michigan, protected for an offense that passed for 317 yards, which was the most by the Gophers since they passed for 373 yards against Northern Illinois in 2010 • provided protection against Ohio State for Minnesota to pass for 281 yards and two touchdowns • his protection at Iowa helped Minnesota pass for 301 yards and two touchdowns and rush for 133 yards and three scores against the the No. 12 defense in the nation • blocked for an offense that rushed for 255 yards and three touchdowns and passed for a score against Illinois • started against Wisconsin • against Central Michigan, protected for an offense that passed for 223 yards and rushed for 158 yards. 

HIGH SCHOOL: Attended North Shore High School, where he was a three-year starter for the Mustangs • finalist for the Touchdown Club of Houston Offensive Player of the Year as a senior • helped his team advance to the third round of the playoffs and finish with an 8-5 record (5-1 in district play) • received All-District 21-6A First Team recognition • coached by John Kay • ranked as a three-star prospect by ESPN, Rivals, 247Sports and Scout • 247Sports lists him as the No. 8 center, Scout as the No. 9 and ESPN as the No. 55 center • 247Sports pegs him as the No. 62 prospect in Texas, while ESPN has him at No. 118 • also lettered in track.
