HIGH SCHOOL: Attended Andover High School • saw action in just two games as a senior, before suffering a season-ending injury • earned all-state honorable mention following his junior season • named to the all-metro third team in 2010 after recording 61 tackles, 5.5 sacks and 21 tackles-for-loss • honorable mention all-conference as a sophomore when he recorded 53 tackles, 5.5 sacks and nine tackles-for-loss in 2009 • coached by Rich Wilkie.

PERSONAL: Both his parents were student-athletes at Minnesota • his father, Brian, played baseball at the U, while his mother, Eileen, ran cross country.
