2011 SENIOR SEASON:
Started all 12 games at tight end finished season second on team in receptions with 16 for 120 yards and two touchdowns earned third varsity letter named Academic All-Big Ten.
Game-by-Game: made first career start in season-opener at Southern California (9/3) started against New Mexico State (9/10) and turned in career-best three catches for 26 yards, including first collegiate touchdown started in Week Three win over Miami (Ohio) (9/17) in starting lineup against North Dakota State (9/24) saw action as a starter at Michigan (10/1) one reception for two yards at Purdue (10/8) hauled in one aerial for six yards vs. Nebraska (10/22) started against Iowa and tallied three catches for 27 yards and a touchdown in victory over Hawkeyes (10/29) started and recorded three catches for 23 yards at Michigan State (11/5) one catch for 12 yards against Wisconsin (11/12) started at Northwestern and tallied one reception (11/19) started against Illinois and had one catch for 17 yards (11/26) in Senior Day victory.
2010 JUNIOR SEASON:
Saw action in seven games caught two passes for a total of 14 yards, with a long reception of nine yards earned his second varsity letter named to the Big Ten All-Academic Team.
2009 SOPHOMORE SEASON:
Saw action in nine games earned first varsity letter named to the Big Ten All-Academic Team.
Red-shirted and did not see action scholar-athlete award winner.
2007 FRESHMAN SEASON:
Appeared in three games as a reserve tight end but did not record any statistics.
A 2007 graduate of Stillwater (Minn.) High School high school coach was Scott Hoffman ranked as the 12th-best player in Minnesota by Rivals.com ranked the 10th-best player in Minnesota by Scout.com selected to the SuperPrep Midwest Team as the 115th-best player named to the PrepStar Midwest Region Team received honorable mention all-state recognition by the Associated Press in 2006.
Son of Robert and Jenny McGarry born December 16, 1988 brother, Robert, was the Gophers' long snapper from 2004-07 already holds bachelor's degree in applied economics.
