Fall Academic All-Big Ten teams boast several Gopher Standouts
Big Ten Conference announces Fall academic honorees.
Twenty-four seniors will be recognized on Senior Day Saturday at TCF Bank Stadium.
2011 SENIOR SEASON:
Appeared in 10 games in 2011 earned third varsity letter named Academic All-Big Ten.
2010 JUNIOR SEASON:
Appeared in 11 games during the 2010 season on special teams and a reserve in the secondary recorded four tackles (two solo) earned second varsity letter.
2009 SOPHOMORE SEASON:
Recorded seven tackles, mostly on special teams saw action in 12 games earned first varsity letter member of the Big Ten All-Academic Team.
Game-by-Game: In the season opening 23-20 OT win at Syracuse (9/5), finished with one tackle appeared in the 20-13 win over Air Force (9/12), finishing with one tackle finished with one tackle in the 35-21 loss to No. 8 Cal (9/19) appeared in the 35-24 win at Northwestern (9/26), but did not record any statistics in the 31-28 loss to Wisconsin ( 10/3), finished with one tackle recovered his first career fumble in the 35-20 win over Purdue (10/10) in the 20-0 loss at No. 14 Penn State (10/17), recorded one tackle appeared in the 38-7 loss to No. 18 Ohio State (10/24) and the 42-34 win over Michigan State (10/31), but did not record any statistics did not appear against Illinois (11/7) appeared in the 16-13 win over South Dakota State (11/14), the 12-0 loss to Iowa (11/21) and the 14-13 Insight Bowl loss to Iowa State (12/31), but did not record any statistics.
2008 FRESHMAN SEASON:
Did not see action as a member of the squad scholar-athlete award winner.
A 2007 graduate of Chippewa Falls (Wis.) High School two-time All-Big Rivers Conference selection two-time all-county honoree also earned all-area honors as a senior in 2006 also lettered in hockey and track and field ran on school-record sprint medley relay team high school coach was Chuck Raykovich.
