2017 • SOPHOMORE SEASON: Played in all ten games • recorded 42 tackles including 6.5 for a loss , one interception, two forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries. Game-by-Game: Had one stuff behind the line for a loss of two yards against Buffalo • notched two tackles, one sack and recovered one fumble against Oregon State • tallied one tackle for a loss of three yards against Middle Tennessee • recorded three tackles against Maryland • was all over the field against Purdue with seven tackles and a red zone interception • forced one fumble and made eight tackles against Michigan State • forced one fumble and notched five tackles against Illinois • recorded five tackles at Iowa • tallied three tackles at Michigan • registered two tackles against Nebraska • recorded two tackles and one sack against Northwestern • recovered one fumble and made three tackles against Wisconsin.

HIGH SCHOOL: Attended Burnsville High School • played quarterback and safety for the Blaze • led the team to a 9-2 overall mark and a 7-1 mark in conference competition last season • named Associated Press First Team All-State as an all-purpose contributor • named a finalist for Mr. Football in the state of Minnesota • as a senior, he completed 63 of 117 passes for 877 yards and nine touchdowns, while also rushing for 400 yards on 88 carries and scored eight times • on defense, he finished with 79 tackles, two forced fumbles, an interception and 13 pass breakups • paced a defense that pitched two shutouts and held the opposition to 10 or fewer points in seven of 11 games • coached by Tyler Krebs.
