2012: Decided to retire from football during fall camp because of a recurring injury.

2011 • FRESHMAN SEASON: Started first five games at right tackle, before missing the rest of season with an injury • earned first varsity letter • named Academic All-Big Ten. Game-by-Game: started at right tackle in season-opener at Southern California • helped guide an offensive line which gained 20 first downs against the Trojans • started in Week Two vs. New Mexico State • helped guide an offense that recorded 399 yards of total offense in week three victory over Miami (Ohio) • started at right tackle against North Dakota State • started at right tackle at Michigan.

2010: Redshirted.

HIGH SCHOOL: Graduate of Irondale High School • selected to play in the U.S. Army All-American Game • helped lead his team to a 6-4 record in 2009 • team advanced to second round of the state playoffs • first-team Associated Press All-State selection • Two-time All-North Suburban Conference selection • honored as North Suburban Conference Offensive Lineman of the Year in 2008 and 2009 • two-time All-Metro selection • second-team all-state as a junior in 2008 • threw two passes last season, completing both for a total of 84 yards and a touchdown • coached by Ben Geisler.
