Gophers welcome newest class of football players
2014 SOPHOMORE SEASON: Played in 12 games and started one at fullback Academic All-Big Ten. Game-by-Game: Started at fullback against Eastern Illinois and helped block for an offense that rushed for 182 yards and four touchdowns and passed for 144 yards and one touchdown against Eastern Illinois helped pave the way for Minnesota to rush for 284 yards, including a career-high 220 by David Cobb, against Middle Tennessee played at TCU and aganst San Jose State competed on special teams at Michigan and against Northwestern, Purdue and at Illinois played on special teams and on offense against Iowa saw special teams action against Ohio State and at Nebraska returned two kickoffs for 28 yards at Wisconsin.
2013 FRESHMAN SEASON: Made his season and collegiate debut against Wisconsin where he played on special teams and returned one kickoff seven yards played on special teams at Michigan State.
2012: Redshirted moved from defensive line to fullback prior to the start of 2013 spring practice.
HIGH SCHOOL: Attended Andover High School saw action in just two games as a senior, before suffering a season-ending injury earned all-state honorable mention following his junior season named to the all-metro third team in 2010 after recording 61 tackles, 5.5 sacks and 21 tackles-for-loss honorable mention all-conference as a sophomore when he recorded 53 tackles, 5.5 sacks and nine tackles-for-loss in 2009 coached by Rich Wilkie.
PERSONAL: Born Jan. 4, 1994 son of Brian and Eileen Hartmann Brian played baseball at Minnesota, while Eileen ran cross country.
