2016 • SOPHOMORE SEASON: Played in 11 games and started five • recorded 32 tackles and two pass breakups • returned five punts for 32 yards. Game-by-Game: Recorded one tackle against Oregon State • started against Indiana State and made four tackles • led team in tackles with 10 against Colorado State • made three tackles and broke up one pass at Penn State • made one tackle at Maryland • notched four tackles in a start against Rutgers • tallied two tackles and returned two punts for 23 yards at Illinois • competed against Purdue • recorded one tackle at Nebraska • registered five tackles against Northwestern • made one tackle at Wisconsin.
2015 • FRESHMAN SEASON: Played in 12 games and started one • recorded 15 tackles (11 solo) • broke up a pass. Game-by-Game: Made his season and collegiate debut at Colorado State where he made one tackle on special teams • competed on special teams versus Kent State, but did not record any statistics • totaled a career-high six tackles in extensive action against Ohio • recorded three tackles (two solo) at Northwestern • tallied three solo tackles and broke up a pass at Purdue • competed on special teams versus Nebraska and Michigan and at Ohio State and Iowa, but did not record a statistic • touted a pair of tackles versus Illinois • competed but did not tally any statistics against Wisconsin and Central Michigan.
HIGH SCHOOL: Attended Lake Park High School, where he was a three-year starter • named to the Champaign News-Gazette’s 79th All-State Team • Chicago Sun-Times All-Area Honorable Mention • All-DuPage Valley Conference and all-area • recorded 57 tackles as a senior • caught four touchdown passes as a wide receiver • on the track, was a Class 3A state champion in the 110-meter hurdles • coached by Chris Roll • received three stars by Rivals, ESPN, 247Sports and Scout • Rivals had him as the 24th-best prospect in Illinois, while 247Sports had him at 38th and ESPN at 45th • tabbed the No. 2 cornerback in Illinois by Scout • rated the No. 107 cornerback overall by Scout, No. 115 by ESPN and 143 by 247Sports.
